What this site keeps, and why.

When you send a form

Contact, brief and results forms send me what you type (such as your name, email, company and message). Along with it, the site sends a short note on how you found it: any campaign tags in the link you followed, the site that referred you, the pages you viewed, how many visits you have made, and any choices you made on the site, such as an industry, a problem or calculator results. I use this only to follow up with you. It is not sold or shared for marketing.

The company brief

When you enter a website, this site reads that site’s public home page and sends its text to Anthropic’s Claude API, which writes the first read. The brief is stored on this server for 30 days so repeat requests are fast, and I keep a record of which company sites were read. If you ask for the full write-up, your name and email are used to send it and to follow up.

Kept in your browser

To remember your choices between pages, this site stores a few items in your browser’s local storage: your industry and problem choices, your latest calculator results, the company brief you ran, your name and email once you submit a form (to save retyping), and how you first arrived. This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and to see which pages and tools get used. Google Analytics sets its own cookies and never receives what you type into a form. Its advertising features are turned off, and this site sets no advertising cookies.

To opt out, use Google’s opt-out browser add-on or block cookies from google-analytics.com.
